What an account fit score measures, how it's typically calculated, and how to read one when deciding which prospects to call first.
An account fit score is a single number, usually 0-100, that summarizes how well a company matches your ICP across whatever criteria you've decided matter: firmographics, technographics, behavioral signals, and sometimes an existing relationship. It exists so a list of a hundred companies can be worked in a sensible order instead of alphabetically or randomly.
Treat score bands as a triage tool, not gospel. A common split is: 70+ call this week, 40-69 worth a lighter-touch outreach or nurture, under 40 deprioritize unless something changes. The score should also be able to change, a company that scored 35 last quarter might score 75 after a funding round, which is why a static, one-time-built list underperforms an updated one.

A fit score is what turns a target account list from a flat list into a prioritized one, and it's usually the trigger for generating an account brief once a company clears a threshold.
